Introduction
Feats are where Pathfinder 2e Remastered characters become specific. The class gives the chassis, but feats decide whether the character controls space, improves a focus loop, fights with a shield, expands spell utility, turns a skill into an encounter tool, fixes a weakness, or wastes two actions trying to look impressive.
This hub collects the PF2e feat-guide layer and links it to Classes, Ancestry Guides, Skills, Equipment, Spell Guides, Combat, Archetypes, and GM Resources.

Rating Key
| Rating | Meaning |
|---|---|
| ● | Broadly strong, easy to use, and tied to a repeated class or table loop. |
| ● | Good when the build, party, or campaign supports it. |
| ● | Situational; powerful only when the table repeatedly rewards the niche. |
| ● | Usually too narrow, too action-hungry, too late, or too disconnected from the character's job. |
| ● | Looks strong until prerequisites, action cost, item access, or campaign assumptions are checked. |
Hot take: the best feat is not the one with the most exciting sentence. It is the one you remember to use because your character's normal turn actually has room for it.

Class Guide Routing
Use the class guide first when you need the full build shape, then use the matching feat guide when you are choosing level-by-level picks. The class guide answers "what am I building?" The feat guide answers "which picks support that plan?"
| Class | Class guide | Feat guide | First build question |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alchemist | Alchemist | Alchemist feats | Are you building around bombs, elixirs, mutagens, poisons, or party support? |
| Animist | Animist | Animist feats | Which apparitions and vessel spell loops are actually worth your actions? |
| Barbarian | Barbarian | Barbarian feats | Does the feat make Rage turns simpler, harder-hitting, or more mobile? |
| Bard | Bard | Bard feats | Does the feat improve composition uptime, occult casting, or party accuracy? |
| Champion | Champion | Champion feats | Does the feat improve your reaction, armor plan, shield use, or ally protection? |
| Cleric | Cleric | Cleric feats | Does the feat support doctrine, divine font, deity choices, or spell action economy? |
| Commander | Commander | Commander feats | Will allies reliably be able to use the tactics you are buying? |
| Druid | Druid | Druid feats | Are you leaning into an order, companion, forms, terrain, healing, or primal casting? |
| Exemplar | Exemplar | Exemplar feats | Does the feat support your ikon cycle and transcendence timing? |
| Fighter | Fighter | Fighter feats | Does the feat improve accuracy, reactions, weapon control, or action compression? |
| Guardian | Guardian | Guardian feats | Does the feat make enemies pay for attacking anyone but you? |
| Gunslinger | Gunslinger | Gunslinger feats | Does the feat solve reload economy or just add another cool thing you cannot afford? |
| Inventor | Inventor | Inventor feats | Does the feat improve innovation value, Overdrive turns, Crafting, or unstable risk? |
| Investigator | Investigator | Investigator feats | Does the feat make Devise a Stratagem, clues, or skill play more reliable? |
| Kineticist | No class guide yet | Kineticist feats | Does the feat support your elements, impulses, junctions, and the actions your turn can actually afford? |
| Magus | Magus | Magus feats | Does the feat strengthen Spellstrike delivery, your hybrid study, spell slots, or a defense plan? |
| Monk | Monk | Monk feats | Does the feat support your stance, Flurry, mobility, defense, or focus powers? |
| Necromancer | Necromancer | Necromancer feats | Does the feat improve thrall placement, grave spells, defenses, or the resources your occult plan can sustain? |
| Oracle | Oracle | Oracle feats | Does the feat make curse pressure worth the risk? |
| Psychic | Psychic | Psychic feats | Does the feat improve amped cantrips, focus economy, defense, or Unleash timing? |
| Ranger | Ranger | Ranger feats | Does the feat improve Hunt Prey turns, ranged pressure, companions, snares, or tracking? |
| Rogue | Rogue | Rogue feats | Does the feat create off-guard access, skill leverage, mobility, or better debilitations? |
| Runesmith | Runesmith | Runesmith feats | Does the feat improve rune delivery, invocation timing, shield defense, a familiar plan, or a build lane your turns can pay for? |
| Sorcerer | Sorcerer | Sorcerer feats | Does the feat help bloodline identity, spell repertoire pressure, or focus spell value? |
| Summoner | Summoner | Summoner feats | Does the feat improve tandem turns, eidolon positioning, defenses, movement, or shared action planning? |
| Swashbuckler | Swashbuckler | Swashbuckler feats | Does the feat make panache more reliable or finishers more decisive? |
| Thaumaturge | Thaumaturge | Thaumaturge feats | Does the feat improve implements, Exploit Vulnerability, Esoteric Lore, or item tricks? |
| Witch | Witch | Witch feats | Does the feat improve familiar value, hex pressure, patron flavor, or prepared casting? |
| Wizard | Wizard | Wizard feats | Does the feat support your thesis, curriculum, preparation, scrolls, wands, or control spells? |
Use a class guide for the whole build when one is available, then use the matching feat guide when you are selecting a level-by-level option. Kineticist currently has a feat guide but no separate class guide, so its feat guide is the direct route.
How To Judge A Feat
Good feat evaluation starts with the question "what does this character do every session?"
| Evaluation question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Does this improve my main action loop? | Repeated value beats rare spectacle. |
| Does it add an action, reaction, or passive benefit? | Active feats must compete for turn space. |
| Does it require a skill rank, earlier feat, class feature, item, or sourcebook? | Prerequisites can change the whole build path. |
| Does my party already cover this job? | Redundancy can be good, but only when it creates reliability. |
| Does the campaign use this pressure? | Social, survival, crafting, undead, firearms, mythic, and faction feats need table support. |
| Is equipment a cheaper solution? | Sometimes equipment solves what a feat would over-specialize. |
| Is a spell a better solution? | Sometimes spell access beats a permanent feat commitment. |
Hot take: "it might come up" is not a plan. It is a polite way to put a feat in storage.

Feat Planning By Level Band
| Level band | What to prioritize | Common trap |
|---|---|---|
| Levels 1-4 | Core action loop, defenses, signature skill, ancestry identity | Taking novelty before the class works. |
| Levels 5-8 | Action compression, class specialization, skill reliability, party role | Adding new actions when your turn is already crowded. |
| Levels 9-12 | Advanced class payoffs, stronger reactions, better skill scene control, item synergy | Ignoring prerequisites until the level arrives. |
| Levels 13-16 | High-impact class identity, stronger defenses, campaign-specific answers | Choosing flashy feats that do not match the campaign's problems. |
| Levels 17-20 | Capstone-style identity, endgame reliability, mythic or sourcebook pressure if used | Building for a perfect scenario instead of the final adventure's reality. |
The early levels should make the character function. The middle levels should make the character distinct. The late levels should make the character decisive.
Action Economy Is The First Filter
PF2e has excellent feats that fail on crowded turns. A class feat that adds a new attack, stance, reload sequence, focus action, command action, shield action, spell setup, or item interaction may be strong on paper and still weak for your character.
Use Three-Action Economy, Strike Actions, Reactions, Movement Actions, Action Compression Feats, and Grapple and Control Actions when judging active feats.
| Feat adds... | Ask... |
|---|---|
| A new action | Which existing action gets cut? |
| A reaction | Does it compete with my class reaction? |
| A stance | How often can I enter it before combat matters? |
| A reload or item loop | Do I have hands and actions free? |
| A focus option | Do I have the Focus Point economy to use it? |
| A skill action | Does my skill bonus make it reliable? |
Hot take: a feat that costs an action every fight is asking to be part of your job description.
Class Feats Versus General, Skill, And Ancestry Feats
Class feats usually define how the class fights, casts, supports, or solves problems. General feats patch broad weaknesses. Skill feats turn skills into tools. Ancestry feats add senses, movement, weapon access, innate magic, resistance, social identity, and culture-specific options.
The best builds do not treat these categories as separate islands.
| Build issue | Usually check |
|---|---|
| My turn is too crowded | Class feats, action compression, equipment, reactions |
| I keep failing a save | General feats, worn items, class defenses, party buffs |
| I cannot reach enemies | Movement skill feats, equipment, class feats, spells |
| I need better scouting | Ancestry senses, Stealth, Survival, Perception tools, spells |
| I need more healing | Medicine feats, divine/primal spells, consumables, class support |
| I need better knowledge | Skill feats, Lore, Society, Arcana, Nature, Occultism, Religion, class features |
| I want a weapon my class does not normally use | Ancestry feats, archetypes, class proficiency, GM access |
Sourcebook Routing
The covered sourcebooks each change the feat layer differently.
| Source | Feat impact |
|---|---|
| Player Core | Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Witch, Wizard, general feats, skill feats, ancestry feats. |
| Player Core 2 | Alchemist, Barbarian, Champion, Investigator, Monk, Oracle, Swashbuckler, added ancestries, and broader class-feat pressure. |
| GM Core | Encounter, treasure, downtime, hazards, social play, and retraining context that changes feat value. |
| Monster Core | Monster traits and encounter patterns that make knowledge, damage type, defense, and countermeasure feats matter. |
| Guns & Gears Remastered | Gunslinger, Inventor, firearms, gadgets, reload economy, and technology access. |
| Dark Archive Remastered | Psychic, Thaumaturge, occult play, implements, amped cantrips, and monster-knowledge pressure. |
| War of Immortals | Animist, Exemplar, mythic play, divine-spark campaign tone, and mythic feats. |
| Battlecry | Commander, Guardian, battlefield coordination, banners, Warfare Lore, and defensive pressure. |
| Treasure Vault Remaster | Equipment alternatives that can replace or support feat choices. |
| Howl of the Wild | Ancestries, animal and wilderness-flavored options, companions, and nature-facing character concepts. |
| Lost Omens books | Setting, faction, region, and access context. Treat rules text carefully and use current Remastered baselines. |
Player Core 2 Update
Player Core 2 matters most for Alchemist, Barbarian, Champion, Investigator, Monk, Oracle, and Swashbuckler feat choices. It also expands ancestry feat pressure through ancestries such as catfolk, hobgoblin, kholo, kobold, lizardfolk, ratfolk, tengu, tripkee, and additional versatile heritage support.
That means a PC2 build should not stop at class feats. A character may get major value from ancestry weapon familiarity, Crafting support, cheek pouch storage, poison delivery, innate spell tools, mobility, senses, social tricks, or heritage defenses. Use Ancestry Guides, Heritage Guide, and Ancestry Feats alongside class choices.
Guns & Gears Update
Guns & Gears Remastered adds major feat pressure through Gunslinger and Inventor. Gunslinger feats should be judged by reload economy, way support, firearm and crossbow access, ammunition, range control, and critical-hit setup. Inventor feats should be judged by innovation support, Overdrive, unstable action risk, Crafting, Gadgets, and whether technology matters in the campaign.
Hot take: both classes punish feat picks that add more buttons without giving you more actions.
Dark Archive Update
Dark Archive Remastered adds Psychic and Thaumaturge feat pressure. Psychic feats should be judged by amped cantrip value, Focus Point pressure, occult utility, defense, and Unleash Psyche timing. Thaumaturge feats should be judged by how an implement works with Exploit Vulnerability, Esoteric Lore, item access, scroll and talisman tricks, and how often the GM lets monster knowledge matter.
Use Occult Spells, Monster Traits, and Skills when those feats depend on knowing what the enemy is.
War Of Immortals Update
War of Immortals adds two major class feat tracks and a mythic layer. Animist feats should be judged by apparition access, vessel-spell timing, focus pressure, spirit flexibility, and whether the campaign rewards spirit negotiation. Exemplar feats should be judged by ikon action flow, transcendence timing, and whether rare divine-spark heroics fit the table.
Mythic is not a normal optimization layer. Mythic feats change campaign structure, scale, tone, and spotlight. Treat them as a table agreement before treating them as build picks.
Battlecry Update
Battlecry adds Commander and Guardian. Commander feats should be judged by how often allies can actually use the tactic or signal. Guardian feats should be judged by how often they change enemy target choice, ally survival, or objective defense.
Battlecry also adds battlefield-facing archetypes, so Battlecry Archetypes, Martial Archetypes, Shields, Armor, and Reactions belong beside the feat guides.
GM Core Context
GM Core does not hand players a class feat, but it changes which feats are good. Encounter building decides whether countermeasures matter. Treasure decides whether equipment can solve a problem instead of a feat. Downtime decides whether Crafting, retraining, social influence, and item access matter. Hazards and subsystems decide whether skill feats are essential.
| GM choice | Feat value changed |
|---|---|
| Lots of hazards | Skill feats, Perception, Thievery, Medicine, Crafting |
| Strong social play | Diplomacy, Deception, Intimidation, Performance, Society |
| Wilderness travel | Survival, Nature, movement, ancestry senses |
| Undead-heavy campaign | Divine support, Medicine, Recall Knowledge, resistance, anti-undead options |
| Firearms allowed | Gunslinger, firearm feats, ammunition, reload support |
| Free Archetype | Dedication planning and feat economy |
| Frequent downtime | Crafting, retraining, Earn Income, faction training |
| Tight treasure | General feats and skill feats may patch item gaps |
A feat is only "best" inside a table that creates reasons to use it.
Common Feat Mistakes
| Mistake | Fix |
|---|---|
| Choosing for novelty | Improve the character's repeated job first. |
| Ignoring action cost | Identify which action the feat replaces. |
| Missing prerequisites | Plan skill ranks, earlier feats, class features, and source access early. |
| Taking a niche feat in the wrong campaign | Ask whether the GM actually uses that pressure. |
| Treating class feats as the whole build | Check ancestry, general, skill, equipment, spell, and archetype options. |
| Overlapping party roles accidentally | Redundancy should create reliability, not wasted picks. |
| Chasing sourcebook options blindly | Confirm rarity, access, campaign tone, and current rules language. |
| Never retraining | If the campaign changes, use retraining when the table allows it. |

Final Hot Take
PF2e feats are not isolated upgrades. They are commitments to how your character spends actions, solves scenes, and survives the campaign your GM is actually running. If a feat does not change your normal play in a way you care about, it is probably not your best pick.
