The Short Answer
Interface RED is a curated DLC shelf, not a complete Cyberpunk RED update line. Each volume collects a selected run of free downloadable articles and adds one exclusive bonus article. That makes a volume useful when its specific mix will help your current campaign, especially if your group prefers one durable reference over a folder of separate PDFs.
Do not buy a volume because its number is higher or because you assume it contains every earlier or related download. The Core Rulebook remains the foundation. The publisher's current checklist shows five Interface RED volumes, and every collection has boundaries.

Hot Take
Interface RED is better when you treat it like a campaign seasoning rack, not an obligation to activate every article at once. A compact collection can make a GM faster. Turning on every optional system because it shares a spine makes the campaign harder to read.
Pick one or two articles that reinforce the kind of jobs the crew already runs. Leave the rest as future leads. The best DLC is often the one that arrives exactly when the campaign has a question for it.
What A Collection Actually Gives You
Every Interface RED volume combines two things: selected material first released as free DLC and an article added specifically to the collection. The free originals remain important. A collection is convenient and curated; it does not erase the original source, later corrections, or the publisher's collection-status notes.
| Collection feature | What it means at the table |
|---|---|
| Selected DLC | A focused group of options, adventures, or setting tools gathered in one reference. |
| Exclusive bonus article | New material unavailable in the original free-download set. |
| Original DLC source | The place to check when you need its full presentation, source history, or a collection-status distinction. |
| Publisher checklist | The current map for whether a named DLC has been collected, partly reprinted, excluded, or remains uncollected. |
Use the collection for readability. Use the official Cyberpunk RED Checklist when a buying or source claim needs to be exact.
Choose A Volume By Campaign Need
The five volumes are not upgrades from weakest to strongest. They collect different eras and kinds of DLC, so their real value depends on the next few sessions.
| Volume | Verified collection focus | Exclusive article | Start here when... |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interface RED Volume 1 | Early RED add-ons, including conversions, a train-job Screamsheet, pregenerated material, mobility options, and Elflines content. | All About Drones | You want early optional texture and drone support in one place. |
| Interface RED Volume 2 | Hardened opposition, weather, a Jumpstart conversion guide, housing, Elflines support, and themed gear. | The Exotics of 2045 | You need tougher ready opposition or campaign utility around places and conditions. |
| Interface RED Volume 3 | Downtime, salvage, shop-focused options, dating, NET material, wheels, cyberware, and other 2022-era DLC. | Going Metal | The campaign wants more between-job activity or Full Body Conversion support. |
| Interface RED Volume 4 | A selected group of 2023 DLC, including pharmacy, Black Chrome+, homes, Screamsheets, gear, and other campaign texture. | Cyberfists of Fury | Martial arts and its surrounding 2023 collection fit the campaign better than another broad gear book. |
| Interface RED Volume 5 | Later selected DLC covering breaking gear, adventure and agent material, a Screamsheet generator, and themed gear. | Solo of Fortune 2045 | The GM wants this particular later collection or its Mercenary Level play additions. |
The Cyberpunk RED Sourcebooks Guide places these collections beside the Core Rulebook, Black Chrome, Danger Gal Dossier, and campaign books. Use it when the decision is "which product next?" rather than "which PDF contains this name?"
Collection Boundaries Matter More Than Volume Numbers
The most common Interface RED mistake is assuming a free DLC must be in a volume because it was released near the same time or discusses a related subject. The checklist shows several different outcomes:
| Collection status | Read it as... | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Collected | A specified Interface RED volume includes that article. | Check the volume and the relevant original source when detail matters. |
| Partly reprinted | Some material appears elsewhere, but not necessarily the whole article or its presentation. | Read the checklist note and use the original if you need the full context. |
| Explicitly not collected | The publisher does not intend that DLC for an Interface RED collection. | Get the original download if the table wants it. |
| Not yet collected | The current collection line does not include it. | Do not promise it will appear in a future volume; verify the next checklist edition. |
This distinction keeps source references honest. It also keeps a GM from telling players an option is unavailable merely because it is missing from a book on the shelf.
Add One Article At A Time
Interface RED can offer missions, gear, locations, opponents, lifestyle material, and optional subsystems. Add a specific article only after answering these questions:
- What recurring situation at this table does it improve?
- Which player, job, or neighborhood gets new choices from it?
- What will not change if the group decides to leave it out?
- Does the GM need to review a source procedure before allowing it?
For example, an adventure or Screamsheet can be a strong way to start a job because it provides a visible lead. A new subsystem deserves more care: agree how it enters play, who owns the decision, and whether it supports the tone the crew has established.
The Cyberpunk RED GM Guide is the companion for that conversation. It helps turn a downloaded idea into a job with choices and consequences rather than a compulsory rules packet.
Use Screamsheets As Leads, Not A Queue
Several Interface RED collections include Screamsheet or adventure material. A Screamsheet works best when it puts public pressure, a rumor, or a possible client in front of the crew. It does not need to become the next mandatory session.
Choose one that touches the crew's existing contacts, debts, district, or recent actions. Let them ignore it, investigate it, sell it, or make it worse. Read the Cyberpunk RED Screamsheet Guide for a focused format, a one-night job conversion, and a source-aware collection map.
